FAQ: For easy reference we have pulled together some of the most frequent questions asked our Support Team on a daily or weekly basis.
What are Green Days?
Green Days in the Conscious Calendar system are when the Moon has a special planetary alignment which amplifies the positive results of actions on those days. The fruition and positive impact of actions on Green Days is greater than actions on other days of the month. Use these to your advantage by planning important meetings, working on projects, communicating with your customers or having social events on these days.
Green days are the best days every year for:
- Commerce, Marketing & Sales
- Launches in general
- Sending newsletters and communications
- Teaching classes
- Hosting events
- Celebrations of any kind either work related or spending time with family and friends
- Romance and datingHere is a video teaching you about Green Days and a free PDF you can download.
Should I only take action on Green Days?
Definitely not. Green Days are not meant to be the only days actions are taken, they are indicators of the type of energy/movement on that day. We act and work on every day of the month…not just on Green Days, but Green Days have a confluence for giving us information we need (even if things do not turn out as we hoped, it gives us new information or connections for our next steps).
Today was a Green Day and I had a HORRIBLE day. What gives?
Check your expectations! Examine what is actually happening. Perhaps you need to choose a different path for that day, and you actually were being given new direction or told where NOT to spend your energy. What one wants and what one expects may not be where the energy is!
Often when someone says this to Kathleen, and then she inquires further, 99% of the time there was a hidden gift or silver lining to the day, and even though something disappointing happened, it was really a blessing in disguise. People usually admit that the thing that blew up, was thankfully the stopping of something that could have been way worse if it would have continued. Blessings, gifts and ‘surprises’ come in all size packages.
Also, maybe the blessings are going unseen, unacknowledged or unappreciated. Review the day with a friend and see what they say. The gift in the day might be in telling the friend about the issue and a solution or ‘next piece of information’ is given to you because you wanted to commiserate about what happened. There lies your gift.
Green Days are about receiving the next piece of valuable information or connection most of the time – sometimes the next piece of information is ‘not that’ or ‘No’.
What are Yellow Days?
Yellow Days are Slow Days or Cautious Days. Obstacles, delays, distractions or annoyances tend to show up on Yellow Days.
Yellow days are not supportive for big business deals, launches, buying homes, signing contracts in general. Yellow days can have extra drama, start and stop energy or bizarre events. There are not major obstacles, just minor ones that can create irritating or distracting experiences or even loss. There are at least two ways that Yellow Days can be used to your advantage…
More obstacles or annoyances might show up on Yellow Days:
- Plan extra time for activities, you will be glad that you did
- Complete behind the scenes tasks on Slow Days
- Do desk work and catch up work on these days, but do not expect high productivity.
- Expect traffic or delays in your commute, most things on this day will seem to take longer.
- Miscommunications, misunderstandings and simple mistakes can create extra work or cause delays.
- Technology and communications can have technical difficulties. Plan on changing or charging electrical devices as part of the day’s delays.
What are Red Days?
Red days are the day or days each month that have the lowest energy of the month.
There are one to two Red days every month. Red days occur either the day before or on the day of the New Moon, and on other special occasions 4 – 6 times a year.
Red Days are “No” Days
- No major business activity recommended. Actions involving worldly concerns or money matters on Red Days just do not have the uumph to fully complete the task or there is often a glitch – for instance, bills mailed during Mercury Retrograde on a Red Day, might just not arrive or get lost.
- No launches
- No buying homes
- Do not sign contracts in general
- Do not over-do physical exercise or workouts or push yourself too hard
- These are good days for resting, caring for your health and spiritual practices or moving slower through your day.
- Yoga, meditation, napping, stretching, contemplation, sauntering walks rather than power walks are more in alignment with these days.
- You will naturally move a little slower and your mind may not make synapses as quickly.
- Act in alignment by not overdoing things on Red Days and you will find you have a robust immune system up to three months later.
What are Mega Red Days?
Eclipses are Mega Red Days in the Conscious Calendars system.
There are 4-6 eclipses (aka Mega Red Days) per year.
On Mega Red Days, great windows open for deep spiritual practice. Plan to have LESS occur on Mega Red Days so that you can focus on doing less, which is what those days are truly about. Monitor your activities and errands and try and keep them to a minimum.
As with Red Days – do not engage in signing contracts, moving, travelling, etc. if it can be avoided. Yes, we may still have to go to work but we can be aware of what is going on around us. We cannot manage other’s habits, activities and choices. If we can stay home and thus decrease our chances of running into mindless or innocently unaware drivers and people on Red Days this will decrease our stress on these days.
It’s great to plan ahead and grocery shop, etc. before Red Days and Mega Red Days so you can just stay home.
The shadows are darker on Red Days, and more so on Mega Red Days – this is both true shadows and internal/metaphorical shadows.
Eclipses amplify your actions – but they amplify actions of letting go usually. What you do on Mega Red Days matters.
Engage in activities you want amplified like eating healthy, meditating, stay calm when others aren’t. If you have an appointment – get a second opinion as all may not be revealed on a Red Day.
Since Red Days are about self-care are these good days to go for a spa treatment of some sort?
To receive a session for something like electrolysis or for aesthetics, facial enhancements or sessions with needles or minor procedures is not recommended. (eyebrows have been plucked/zapped unevenly, lips have been damaged, etc on Red or Mega Red Days, as reported from CC members!). As for acupuncture, if you are receiving Toyo Hari, or very gentle sessions, it might be all-right. And if your practitioner also gives you energy work or helps you consolidate energy and not disperse it (Chinese medicine terms) then that is well-indicated. One would hope that they are feeling the energy of the day, and your pulses – but not all Chinese medicine practitioners work with the solar-lunar rhythms, they often work with the energy of the season.
Best is to do SELF care on Red days and stay in, depending on the Red Day. Honey masks, restorative yoga, naps, easy stretching, Feldenkreis, qi gong are all wonderful practices on Red Days.
In general, those giving sessions will be lower energy on Red Days and even the day before a Red Day, and may not be cognitively at their best. Note how much mental involvement the practitioner must use…for instance, receiving a restorative yoga session is much more aligned and easier to not have the Red day energy affect – versus yoga in a club where the teacher might over-extend people’s energy too much.
If YOU are giving sessions on Red Days, if it is energy work or Reiki, you simply want to keep things simple and not over extend your energy. Perhaps, you take less clients than usual, or take time for a nap in between sessions.
And with ALL of these practices, it is about using our connection with the Sun and Moon and our awareness of noticing how we are on Red Days that give us the best information…first principle of awareness: Observe. See what is true for you.
What are Purple Days?
Saturn is with the Moon on these days. It simply means there are obstacles or extra work in the day.
Depending on other planetary aspects, purple days can be good days to release things and patterns (or they may be taken from you). This moon-day can bring intense lessons, notice where you feel attached and see if you can let go.
Purple Days often indicate a slowing down of a project, or that obstacles might appear, which is different energy than typical Yellow Days. Yellow Days are more prone to distractions and drama, or technology or commute issues.
On Purple Days a good theme is often to simply keep perspective and recognize where you are ultimately heading in a project or situation, and be aware that a slow down or obstacle may occur.
“Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” Winston Churchill
So, what’s with the days that have no color added to them on the Conscious Calendars?
Days with no color or gray on the Conscious Calendars are considered Neutral Days.
In short, neutral days are generally okay days for life’s basic activities as they don’t normally come with obstacles like Yellow or Red Days and simply don’t have the extra umph that Green Days do.
Paid members have access to any available extra information for any type of day, including neutral days. The top of the Member’s PDF document that accompanies the paid monthly Conscious Calendar has a reference section that gives an overview of various cosmic aspects and planetary energies. For free followers and paid members, we also post things on Facebook if there are any important or relevant aspects occurring.
Generally speaking Neutral Days are great days to start conversations and beginning planning out ideas. It’s also a good idea to look ahead and see if there are any Green Days, Mercury Retrogrades, Full or New Moon coming up to better assist you in deciding what to focus on during neutral days.
Does Conscious Calendars work?
A better question is, does Conscious Calendars work for you? Test them! There are thousands of people around the world who have already used and tested Conscious Calendars in their daily life and have found knowing the energy of the various days ahead of time helps them plan their lives better and they have seen incredible changes in their lives because they do so.
For you, why not try the calendars and test your experience with the information shared on different days.
We, as spiritual seekers are asked to constantly test what is true for us. Does our experience match a ‘rule’ we might think to be true?
A general question is, Is this true, but perhaps ask, Is this true for me? For instance, some people think that everyone is happier on warm, sunny days, but someone with a hot body type might only tend to be annoyed, sweaty and exhausted on warm, sunny days. YOU might like warm, sunny days, and it might tend to make you more at ease, but this may not be true for everyone.
What is truth and how do I know it when I come across it? Was it the sun that day that made me happy, was it the hug I received in the morning?
As we continue to observe our breath and mind, and get clearer and clearer with our diets and hearts, we see that certain Universal patterns emerge – that the breath switches dominance from Right to Left to Right every few hours, that the energy of the day just before and AT sunrise has a significant effect on the day and our environment. At the same time, it is our responsibility to see that what we experience IS subjective, and is based on our perspective.
This is the balance of what the ancient seers described – both are true. We can only know things from our perspective and there are Universal Truths that can be tested.
How is Vedic Astrology different than Western Astrology?
Vedic Astrology uses the sidereal map which is what astronomers use. So, it will “appear” that planets seem to be in a different place than a western astrology ephemeris.
There are some western astrologers who use the Sidereal map too. The western astrology map that is often referenced is called tropical. The two maps are 23 degrees different – so all the planets in any given map/horoscope chart shift a little over 23 degrees.
So, if someone has a trine or planets opposite each other in their Western chart, those planets will have the same orientation in the Vedic chart. It is just that a sign or constellation is 30 degrees, so more often than not, planets, Sun, Moon or ascendant appear to “shift” signs backwards in the Vedic chart.
The angles between the planets remain pretty much the same – but the house and constellation shift bring a different interpretation in Vedic Astrology.
Most importantly, Vedic Astrology uses the houses, the karma of what is lighting up and the relationships between house ‘rulership’ differently than Western astrology to become what is called predictive astrology and to understand underlying karmic and mental patterns of an individual’s soul.
Vedic Astrology views the Moon as far more important than our Sun sign (which simply matches an entire month of others born in the same month).
Each person’s moon signifies their consciousness, their emotional quotient or how they process the world, how they tend to interpret the world and as a result how decisions are made, along with much more.
The ascendant sets certain karmas in Vedic Astrology, the Moon determines the karmic or planetary cycle of each individual and the Sun gives information about vitality, health, profession and how the world perceives an individual.
We are headed into Mercury Retrograde. How does that effect the energy of Green Days?
On a Green Day during Mercury Retrograde make sure you take a lot of care towards your inner world – your own emotions, impulses, and reactions may be heightened during the retrograde.
Even if it’s a Green Day signing major documents during Mercury Retrograde usually means some portion of the contract will need to be re-negotiated. These are often smaller items or new information presenting itself after Mercury Retrograde which influences needing a re-negotiation. So, it is best to work a clause into the agreement of assessment of a portion of the contract in 60 days. If possible, final signing of documents should be done during Mercury direct and a Green Day.

Why am I not receiving your emails?
You actually probably are! There could be several reasons why you appear to not be receiving emails from us. We really want to help you get the time-sensitive and important information from Kathleen and Conscious Calendars. They could include:
- Solution: Check your Spam Folder, your Junk Folder or your Promotional Tab (in gmail).
Reason: Your email server is marking our emails as spam and sending them to your junk mail folder. Be sure to check your junk mail / social media / or promotions inboxes. If you find our emails there, be sure to either drag them to your inbox, or move with your email programs dropdown menu which will indicate that the emails are not junk mail. Also – be sure to whitelist us! Add our email address firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book.
- Solution: Whitelist Conscious Calendars by simply clicking REPLY to one of our emails, or contacting support and we will send you an ’email confirmation’ request, which will make sure your email service will allow our emails to get to you. This is VERY important if you are a paying customer, since you might not be receiving valuable content we are emailing to you each month with the latest information to help you.
Reason: Your email service provider might be blocking us. If we are not whitelisted, your system may be blocking us all together and all emails we send you will be bouncing back to us as undeliverable. Or your service says your email is received but you are not even seeing the email in junk folder. This happens sadly. See the first sentence for the solution.
- Solution: Update your email address, since your original sign-up email and what you use now may not be the same.
Reason: You changed email address – if we don’t have an up to date email address for you our newsletters might still be going to an older email address we have on file. Please email Support if you change your email address. (especially important with PayPal – both accounts must have the same email address)
- Solution: Subscribe to the free newsletter list.
Reason: You unsubscribed from the emails – in which case, you can still login to your account and access the calendars and monthly bonuses – but you won’t receive the newsletter Kathleen sends out to paid subscribers.
- Solution: Check your Spam Folder, your Junk Folder or your Promotional Tab (in gmail).
Why are you not responding to the email I sent to your Support Team/Customer Service?
Our Support Team is amazing! They endeavor to answer all emails as quickly as possible. If they haven’t answered you it may be because:
- No email from you has shown up in the inbox at email@example.com. If a reasonable amount of time (3 days) has gone by with no answer, please email us again.
- Support typically does not work weekends and answers all emails Monday to Friday. If you email late on a Friday, Support will likely not see the email until early on Monday morning.
- Your question or request is unusual and we are looking for an answer for you. Once we do have an answer we will respond to you.
- Your system is blocking us. For some of you, we keep emailing, but we know you aren’t getting any of our emails as the newsletters we send keep bouncing back at us. Please be sure to whitelist us by adding firstname.lastname@example.org into your address book.
- Our emails are going to your social media or promotional inbox. Some email servers split the incoming emails into Inbox, Social Media, Promotions or other folders. Our emails may be going into one of them, or even into junk mail or trash. Be sure email@example.com is added to your address book. Also – look in the other folders and if you find us there, please move us to the inbox and mark us as “this is not junk mail”, or whichever tag is appropriate for your email system.
My credit card has expired and I would like to update the info you have on file. Is there somewhere secure I can update my credit card or add my PayPal account?
Yes! You can go here and check out for $0.00 to update your credit card or add your PayPal to your account.
If you are using PayPal be sure the email they have on file and we have on file are the same – or you will have a second account created – which can cause issues with current and future billing.
Why is Conscious Calendars subscription set to automatically renew?
Automatic renewal is the default setting within our system. A reminder email is sent approximately 3-7 days before your subscription renews each month, 6 months or 12 months depending on your subscription length. Auto-renew ensures you continue to receive all the amazing content Kathleen creates without any interruption to your subscription. If you wish to renew manually, not automatically, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know you want your subscription auto-renewal set to inactive. You will still receive the newsletters and be able to access your online account until the end of your current subscription. They can set a reminder in your account to let you know your subscription will need renewing at the appropriate time (setting a calendar reminder in your phone would be a good idea to!).
I live in Europe (or India, Australia…etc). Do I have to take away or add a certain number of hours to the calendar for it to be effective in my time zone?
The calendars are calculated for conditions of the day, around the world. Kathleen has taken into account sunrise in all time zones and merged the results for the energy and influence of the planets for a majority of the day.
For instance, while we are based in Washington State in USA, Australia is considered and checked for these influences. We have many happy customers from Australia who follow along with this information as everyone else around the world. Because of the time difference, most of our questions about whether the calendar applies come from Australia and so this is a good example, though in Kathleen´s calculations, several countries around the world are taken into consideration.
All full moon and new moon times are listed in UTC, so that the users worldwide can find their local time for the new or full moon.
For instance, Red Days are calculated as the day before the new moon rises with the sun – you will notice that even with the time difference between UTC and yourself, that Kathleen has calculated that the first REAL lunar days lands on the correct date around the world.
Kathleen spends a great deal of time testing different locations around the world with the Red, Yellow and Green Days – a year in advance!
Please also note how many differences for the north and south hemispheres are considered and spelled out with different ideas such as health tips. When there are differences they are usually highlight in the Calendar PDF, in your Astro Forecast PDF (for paid subscribers), and are also noted in any posts on our Facebook page.
