We are on the other side! Solstice has turned the year around.
ANCHOR THE LIGHT WITHIN AND SPARKLE
Solstice on Dec 21 2016 has turned the year around. It was either the longest night of the year for you and now you are gaining light each day or it was the longest day and it was a mild Green Day to boot.
This is the season of light because we are either accessing the light within if we are in darkness (in the northern hemisphere) or celebrating the long days (in the southern hemisphere).
Celebrate the light, even in the darkness.
How do you anchor light within?
By remembering LOVE and having GRATITUDE for the people in your life, or the opportunities you have had, or for moments of silence/epiphany/release you may have found.
Having gratitude lights every cell. You can sparkle from the inside out this holiday season. When you smile with gratitude and take a deep breath of love – try it RIGHT NOW, you are lighting every cell and shifting your vibration.
Now THAT is whole other way to celebrate light. Feeling lighter?
The other thing to remember about solstice is this is NOT the beginning of winter or summer, you are half way through the season, actually. That is something to celebrate, you do not have an entire season to trudge through – you are at the mid-mark to spring in the northern hemisphere.
Here is what you need to know for the next 5 days.
- Pace yourself
Like the video I posted on Dec 21 on the Facebook Page reminded you – even though we have passed through Solstice, we are actually still in the waning Moon cycle.
Since the Moon is still losing light through Dec 28th, those in the n. hemisphere are reminded that this is a time of cocooning, or pacing ourselves and not overextending. When you move slower and pace yourself you can gather your energy and rein in the healing you need at this time of year.
This is your reminder to slow down and listen to what our soul needs. Ask yourself what rest, or rejuvenation might you need. This holds true no matter which hemisphere you live.
- Mercury has been RETROgrade since Dec 19, 2016 in Sagittarius
- REMINDER: Chinese or Lunar New Year is a little more than a month away on January 28th. Notice how ancient solar-lunar calendars have New Year with the first buds of spring under the ground…
- Venus is in the place of innovation through Dec 28th – make the most of the opportunity to re-invent some area of your life, even if it is as simple as re-organizing your closets or your daily routine – it will have ripple effects throughout 2017. Venus moves out of the efficiency and inventive place of Capricorn after Dec 28th, and will no longer have the support of wise, Jupiter after the 28th for a short while.
Mercury Retrograde Dec 19 – Jan 8
If you have been having miscommunication lately or feel like you have been misunderstood – don’t blame it all on Mercury. Yes, the planet of communication can be jumbled right now its true – but it is about to start bringing you answers and sales, discounts and tips on where you need to focus and giving you the details in the fine print starting Dec 30th. Just like we do not live alone or in a vacuum, the planets are all affecting us at the same time and are in relationship with each other as they orbit our sun. So Mercury is retrograding at the same time that Mars is crossing a fiery point in the sky – where Ketu is in Aquarius.
As of Dec 11, 2016 Mars has moved into the eclipse patterns and added to the possible irritation and complications of this Mercury Retrograde. So, we have Mars crossing Ketu in Aquarius on Dec 25th and after that day, things will still tend to irritate a bit but can be handled if you manage your energy with exercise or deep breaths (that Mars and Ketu are in air signs – lots of deep breaths will really help.)
Here’s why:
We simultaneously have Mars being destabilized, so the effect is that we might feel like we are less effective. Well, it’s the holidays, things will take a while to get done…
At the same time, Mercury is retrograding AND exchanging with Jupiter and even though it is not “off the charts” like it was back in August/September 2016, for some of you this is still an extremely strong time.
In particular, if you have a Gemini or Sagittarius or Virgo ascendant or Sun, you will notice that you can make use of Re-calculating your income, expenses or looking over receipts or how you spend money. There will be some golden lining in taking the time to look at those expenses – it might just be a tax break you didn’t know you had, but you will still be able to ‘find money’ and possibly ‘find ways to turn your health around, which is more important than money.
Also, Sagittarius or Virgo ascendants or Sun’s can really turn their health and career around. It will be about taking a good long look at the numbers – and that might be looking at your blood test numbers.
Seriously, stop thinking you know why something looks the way it does and be open to the idea that you really DO have those numbers for a blood test.
You CAN turn it around if you look at the reality of it, and start making changes.
That is the gift of this Mercury retrograde. Stop thinking you know the answer and start investigating why. Google, Alexa, Siri and technology are your friends. Be open on the Green Days (Dec 31st and Jan 6th!) to receiving great information on how you can turn your health around.
So, go for it, use the holiday time and the quiet at the end of the year to RE-flect and see where you can shift your health, your spending, reach out to friends and family more or how you can make changes which will give you more freedom or release in life.

Mars crosses Ketu ON Christmas Day – around the world
The Moon is in harmony focused Libra Dec 23 – 25th which is calling us all to get along and to focus on balance at the same time…the planet of ‘let’s do this right now, not sure I have patience for this’ Mars is crossing the invisible mark in the sky which elicits irritation and impatience. You see Ketu ‘acts like Mars’ when it is triggered, and Ketu with Mars in an air sign will mean many people might feel more scattered or irritated from Dec 23 – 25.
THE REMEDY for the season:
1. Eat root vegetables and
2. Spend time outside in nature – even it its cold (or really hot in the southern hemisphere)
We are going for a hike with friends on Christmas Day, but that is a common practice in our household.
How can you get some time outside, or get grounded by time in nature? Take the trash out or go out to the car before the family and just wait calmly for the others.
Then linger outside and notice the birds, the movement of the leaves, the smell of the December air. Even three to ten deep breaths outside in those in-between moments can be food for your soul, a moment of silence in the midst of loving family cacophony (noise) or poetry to the senses as you feel the cold air reach deeper into your lungs.
