Building the Juice of Life
“The usefulness of a cup is in its emptiness.”
Each Lunar cycle, when the moon returns to new we are like an empty vessel.
It is time to replenish the vessel of mind and body, repair and slow down in the quiet time of the lunar cycle, naturally.
Then as the light and energy of the moon builds with the waxing moon, we can HOLD and use the light that ushers us to connect and share and help others.
When we slow down and give our body, mind and soul a chance to rest and rejuvenate it is allowing our vessel to repair itself. Then our vessel (our body) can sustain us longer and with more ease.
Ojas as the root of vitality and immune health
If you have ever studied ayurveda, you might have heard of the terms Ojas, Tejas and Prana.
The Universal forces of life are contained in the three qualities of Ojas, Tejas and Prana. Tejas and Prana are contained within Ojas.
Ojas is like the oil or ghee which fuels the fire, (tejas is the fire). Tejas is the heat, movement and light which comes from the fire and prana is the energy and “qi” which comes from the flame of Tejas. The root of it all is Ojas.
Ojas is the steady potential, which when allowed to coalesce, can turn into light and spiritual awakening.
On a physical level, ojas is the foundation of the immune system. This is why nourishing practices like qi gong, yoga and meditation cultivate the ‘juice of life’ (ojas) and that in turn helps spread nourishment and repair throughout the cells. Research has been shown that restorative practices reverse DNA damage naturally. These are practices which cultivate ojas.
“Ojas proper is the potential, the stamina of the mind and nervous system for holding tejas and prana.” David Frawley from Yoga and Ayurveda
Settled water, settled mind
One of many monthly health tips I’ve shared with Annual Subscribers is to store your filtered water in an earthen or porcelain vessel to allow the energy to settle and gather. It’s like the frenzy of the world is filtered out of the water from its many twists and turns in pipes on its path to you. When you allow your water to settle in a healthy vessel before drinking it, the energy of the water coalesces. It is an ayurvedic practice to set a glass of water to settle overnight which allows the water to better nourish your cells with steadiness.
Good days for gathering your energy are the single Red Day each month. The color-coded Conscious Calendars help you easily understand the energy of each day and how to use the energy each month. When the Moon connects with helpful planets like Jupiter, Venus and Mercury AND also is connected with special places of flow or supports changes or work AND is also full of light, then those become Green Days.
When the moon is new it is the quiet time of the month and it asks each of us to slow down. Naps might naturally happen, for instance. In Conscious Calendars, this is the Red Day each month.
With a quick glance at your Conscious Calendar you can align with the energy of the day and know what to do.
You’ll know when to slow down and save and build your juices and when to take action and move forward on projects.
