What is an ICS file?… An ICS is a calendar that files information within a text file. That text file can then be added to your home computer’s calendar software or uploaded to your calendar online (i.e. Google Calendars). This is an easy way you can keep up to date with your new Conscious Calendars! To import events from ICS file to your Google Calendar, just follow these steps:
- First go into your Google Calendar and under my calendars create a new calendar
- Click the down-arrow next to the calendars (this is right below the my calendars tab on the left)
- Select Import calendar
- Click Choose file and find the file that contains your events, then click Open.
- Select the Google Calendar where you’d like to import events, then click Import.
Important Notes about using Your Conscious Calendars on your phone:
Viewing your unique Conscious Calendar PDF materials on your phone, computer, or tablet is simple and easy. The ICS calendar takes a few extra steps.
*If you want to use your Conscious Calendar files on your phone, we have some popular options for you!
- We recommend downloading your unique color-coded Conscious Calendars monthly pdf file to your phone and/or computer. This gives you the PDF right on your phone and your computer. Many users open up the PDF file on the phone, and take a screenshot of each month. This way it appears in your gallery and easy to find.If you have access to a computer, we recommend downloading the file and opening it up on your computer and taking a photo with your phone so that the image is saved in your photo gallery. This way you can easily pull up your monthly color-coded calendar in your photo gallery on both phone and computer. You don’t even need to open up the pdf file.
- We also offer an optional ICS calendar download feature, that works in beta version because there are no set options – the .ics/ICS file. This version of the calendar integrates the basics of the Conscious Calendars into your iCal or Google calendar.
Please note that this is a basic and optional feature, it is not a main feature of the unique Conscious Calendars system. Please bare with us as we constantly improve our portion of this offering for all platforms and systems and while this technology gets upgraded by programmers around the world for us all to use seamlessly.
At this time, the .ics/ICS version does not sync color-coded information into your iCal or Google Calendar. The color-coded Conscious Calendar you receive is a separate pdf file. The .ics/ICS file also does not integrate detailed information about the days, which you can easily find in your membership pdfs and unique Conscious Calendar. We know it will be a helpful feature to add notes to the various types of days and colors and if you are a programmer with immediate time and resources to help us with this functionality, please do contact us!
What the .ics/ICS calendar will show you is which day it is in words – “Green Day” or “Yellow Day” or “Red Day” on each specific day to which they refer. We recommend keeping a handy cheat sheet of the basic meanings of the different colors of days used in our Conscious Calendars system as well as joining our Facebook community for daily reminders. For instance, another screenshot of page two of your member’s pdf or some print outs to keep in your office, securely taped to your laptop or computer case, next to your bathroom mirror, or attached to your fridge by magnet. Be creative. After a while, you’ll have the basic meanings down! As a member, you get bonus information with your Green Day material – this includes the “type” of day – type 1, 2, 3, 4. At this time, these types are not included in the .ics/ICS version. We’ll get there! In the meantime, we’re confident the members Conscious Calendar pdf and Monthly Vedic Astro Forecast pdf and daily Facebook reminders can help you with the specific types of days as you plan events.
By now, you’re very curious how to use your bonus .ics/ICS so you have your basic Green, Yellow, and Red Days at a glance in your iCal or Google Calendar, right? Here we go.
There are currently two ways to sync your .ics/ICS file with one of these calendar apps on your phone and/or computer. We find that it is more convenient to sync with the computer first, if you have access to one, and then to your phone.
- The first way to sync the .ics/ICS file is to use your laptop or desktop computer to download the .ics file. You can then follow the above instructions and the video for complete instructions on setting this up and syncing your files with your calendar.
- The second way to sync your .ics/ICS file with your Google or iCal is to download a third party app. Please note that we are not responsible for these apps nor do we have any affiliation with them. Examples include ICSSync for Android phones. We’re happy to help you figure it out but please note that our tech team is familiar with Conscious Calendars materials and we are not tech developers for third party apps nor do we claim to be experts at which app to use to sync your calendars from your phone (though we strive to be experts at all related techy materials that help make life easier for our fans and followers).
