Tuesday February 19 is a Green Day and Full Moon
The Full Moon in Leo occurs on February 19 @ 3:53 PM UTC / 10:53 AM EST / 7:53 AM PST / FEB 20 2:53 AM AEDT
VOLUNTEER – CONTRIBUTE – LEAD – and CREATE IMPACT this year
What is the common connection between all great leaders? It is both the ability to LISTEN to others and self, and to act from the heart. It is not about being an extrovert (most incredibly successful executives are actually introverts), it is not about putting on a show, or giving speeches but about listening to your heart and being able to be in the moment. That is what creates connection. From connection with self and others energy naturally flows.
The theme of this full moon in Leo is Leading from the Heart.
Leo is a fixed fire sign and represents the fire of a well tended heart and hearth of a home.
It is also the culmination of the CELEBRATION OF LUNAR NEW YEAR. Now the year is finally rolling.
This full moon is all about leadership and inspiring you to take action – to jump-in some place where you want to see change in this world.
Leadership is often about just-showing-up or taking ONE action which feels for you like it is restoring balance or that it is a ‘good and right thing’ to help others in some way.
Leadership is not about “show” or speaking to a large crowd. True leadership is about listening to your inner nudge. Ironically, developing your inner listening often comes from being open, aware and listening to others and simultaneously listening to cues you are receiving from around you and within you.
Leadership is about contributing in some small way which helps shift others’ lives or inspires others, (although the full moon in showy Leo can bring out the entertainer in some).
If you are an introvert, there are plenty of ways you can be a leader and contribute – often by doing something behind the scenes or doing the work (computer, sewing, craft, creating) in a quiet, comfortable space or from home.
Leadership, listening, and perception are all connected.
Light and Enlightenment:
What do you really see in the world?
How do you see?
“Sight” for instance is based on the attention of the seer, the physiology of the seer (dogs, bees and humans all see the exact same flower completely differently for example) and the experience of the seer leading up to the moment and informing how they perceive the moment.
To gain healing and connection with yourself – question what you are seeing and how you feel about a moment. That level of inquiry is what leads to enlightenment – the ultimate window of Light into the Soul.
That is what this full moon in Leo is asking you: Look at how you perceive with your heart-mind, your feelings, your eyes and your pre-conceived notions.
When you start to scratch the surface just a little this way- you open doors to your own inner perceptions and to cultivating inner listening and ‘knowing the answer’ in the moment. It is what some people call Intuition, but this is opening you to even more than intuition. You are following your path when you listen like this.
This is true leadership at the same time.
Photography, Lens, and Light
Photography lights up around this full moon, too (with the moon being in the constellation of light of our solar system and to do with perception. Photography and film are all about ‘perception’, an external study of how what we see comes from our subjective point of view.
So, if you are a photographer, this is another way you can show up and share your talents by helping document, capture or inspire others around some important event or organization that is important to you. You might contribute with your keen eye on marketing or help set up an event or series of events.
This Full Moon activates where we want to help make a difference in the world. Listen to your secret desires of where you want to see change or create impact.
Making a difference can be as simple as helping an elderly neighbor, or volunteer where your heart is tugged.
CHANGE MAKING
This is change-making leadership and does not need to be bold.
The simplest contribution can make a huge difference – and this full moon and Sun in Aquarius helps you find voice for where you want to see some change that fills your heart with joy or helps relieve some grief or sadness you feel or for those who you are helping.
It is time to show up in some way – see where someone asks for help this week.
Your Full Moon Aligned action:
Commit to one event in the next month to volunteer or help in some way that ‘you have been meaning to’.
This is the month to step into your unique, personal form of leadership.
(The full moon is in the lunar mansion called Magha – deeply connected with ancient lineage of leaders.)
The brightest star in the constellation where the Moon is full this month is Regulus – said to be 100 times as luminous as our sun. Magha means ‘the great’ or the ‘might one’ and is located near the forehead of the lion. (Thank you to Dennis Harness in his book Nakshatras for info about Magha).
