The great amount of fire adds Pitta influences to the global psyche, which can bring strategic focus, especially to Sagittarians and Aries. This fire can also bring a ‘push’ and ‘push-back’ attitude and a desire to have things completed.

When you look out toward the Sun in December and January each year, you are looking toward the supermassive black hole that is at the center of our Milky Way, our galaxy. Looking toward the first 3 degrees of Sagittarius makes a straight line from Earth to Sagittarius A (Sgr A), the center of our galaxy. 

Sagittarius is a lane of information that pours into our solar system and helps us connect with ideas and our timeless Self, especially when the Sun is in Sagittarius.

In January 2024, we have even more chances to connect with inspiration, clarity, and new insights because 4 planets in Sagittarius activate something for each person.

Tap into New Information

The Akashic records carry information about the past, present, and future. When the Sun and Moon align in Sagittarius each year from mid-December to mid-January, it gives enlivened access to this enormous spring of ancient knowledge.  It’s a potent time to tap into the Akashic records and gives you a bigger, super boost to understand your path over many lifetimes.  Listen to your dreams and try to meditate in the early morning of January.

Fire Signs Aries and Sagittarius are Supercharged

This new moon activates purpose and a desire to make a difference. The strong fire energy increases a drive to get things done, and the ability to be focused in short sprints, but those big expectations can also overwhelm some people and cause a shutdown.

That same fire energy might also bring up irritation, quick-to-judge, and a feeling that ‘you are right’ because Mars is acting like it is in Aries right now.

This increased fire and Pitta energy in winter is a bit strange since it can increase heat symptoms in a cold season. The New Moon in the Nakshatra or lunar mansion of Purva Ashada can bring fame, attention, wealth, and connections to people with major planets in Sagittarius or if Sagittarius is a foundational house in your birth chart.

There is even MORE fire being activated because Jupiter and Mars are in an ‘exchange yoga’ in the heavens, making Mars act like it is in Aries and Jupiter like it is Sagittarius.
The good news is that Jupiter in Sagittarius gives you the ability to find guidance and have vision – a perfect time in the New Year!

This exchange of energy might almost be overwhelming as there can be a super boost of ideas that expand you beyond your current world, especially if Sagittarius is a foundational house in your birth chart (like house 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 or 11).

Work with the element of fire to balance your eye health

Parivatna yoga

There are special yogas, or union of planets in Vedic Astrology that connect the areas of action and purpose. One special Yoga is happening in our skies right now – Jupiter and Mars are exchanging energy and activating each of our lives related to Aries and Sagittarius.  The Parivatna Yoga is when two planets reside in each other’s houses and ‘exchange’ energy to create a 4-fold synergistic effect. This new moon is supercharging this exchange; this Parivatna yoga between Jupiter and Mars right now. Jupiter is in the house of Aries, and Mars is in the house of Jupiter.

When Jupiter is in the house of Mars and Mars is in the house of Jupiter, this special exchange occurs gives support, guidance, focus, advocacy, and justice to the area of life that Aries and Sagittarius light up in your natal Vedic Astrology chart. We don’t get alignments like this between Jupiter and Mars very often, which is why I’m very excited about it!
