Full Moon in Sagittarius – Fire and Fame
Cosmic Window opens at midnight on July 2
Guru Purnima Monday, July 3
The full moon on July 3 gathers excitement because it activates fire, action, and energy in your life. Volunteer or perform charity or give attention to important causes or teachers during these 3 days July 1 – 3.
This special Full Moon (during the month of Ashada) is called Guru Purnima.
Cosmic Window to connect with all the teachers and gurus of your lifetime:
The Simple Way: Dr. Vasant Lad shared a secret that at midnight on July 2 (this year), there is a special portal that opens between you and your many teachers and gurus of all your lifetimes.
At midnight: Try to be in meditation, mantra or in quiet and open your heart to all the teachers of this lifetime. As you name them, and remember each of them, there is an energy that rises in you which brings blessings and increased love to your entire being. Open to the blessings and fill yourself with gratitude.
It’s a perfect time to connect with ALL the teachers and gurus of your past lifetimes and show them gratitude and feel the flow of their love and wisdom which has passed on to you.
Also: Take a bath and give thanks and gratitude first thing in the morning on July 2 and 3.
Veda Vyasa Birthday is commemorated (Monday, July 3, 2023)
This day is also called Vyasa Purnima and is commemorated as the birth anniversary of Veda Vyasa.
In the Yogic tradition, Guru Purnima is honored as the day Shiva himself became the Adi guru (first guru) and passed the knowledge of yoga to the rishis.
Buddha’s first teaching
It is also said that this is the day that Buddha gave his first sermon/teaching at Sarnath.
Guru Purnima is celebrated around the world by Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists and even as festival in Nepal, India, and Bhutan.
Ritual timings Potent time: You can be in meditation, chant, listen to teachings of Veda Vyasa (the Maha Bharata) or give service to important causes or spiritual organizations. Celebrate your teachers or celebrate the wisdom you have today from all those you have learned from in this lifetime.
This period ends with the peak of the full moon where you are.
See the times below and on your Conscious Calendar and celebrate teachers and give back all day, as the full moon peaks.

Important Planetary Event this Month – Mars moves into Leo
July 1st, Mars moves to fiery Leo and gets all of us rolling and into action with an extra boost from the full Moon in Sagittarius.
Heat and the Planet Mars
One of the biggest things to try and balance during July will be heat – heat on the planet and heat in your body.
I give classic cooling tips throughout the videos this month.
Mars, the planet of action has been fatigued for ALL of May and June making most people feel tired and uninspired the last two months. You will still want to nourish yourself with adaptogens for at least 3 weeks throughout July if you felt tired in June. It is important not to ‘burn out’ in July with this new spark that is available. Pace yourself throughout July and you will be combining the short and fast “get things done” energy of Mars with the long-term vision that Jupiter supports.
Jupiter shines on Leo
Jupiter gives special support to the constellation of Leo, so as planets pass through here, they receive support for “what each planet is good for”. Mars gets things done, especially in Leo, but can be impatient and short-tempered. The good news is that you can make strides in improving your impatience because of the loving support of Jupiter, but you have to make the effort! If you are not eating regularly, and are only in “go mode” you might notice impatience cropping up more easily.
Important Habits to help you in July
Practice short meditations – as short as 1 – 3 minutes to begin. Be successful, and pat yourself on the back for a short quiet time.
Single yoga postures might lead to a short stint of 3 or more postures.
Start with Sun Salutation or practice simple things like child’s pose and any poses which stretch the front of your body. It will counteract the “bent forward go energy “of Mars this month. Other poses like laying on your back with your legs up a wall or draping your bent legs over an ottoman or on your couch (while laying on the floor) will replenish the adrenals and give your face a little lift too.
Take a deep breath if you are in a tense situation while driving or if someone around you is impatient. Or remove yourself from the situation.
