What is Mantra?
The word mantra simply means ‘Mind’ ‘liberator’.
The word ‘Mantra’, according to Harish Johari, comes from the Sanskrit word mantrana which means advice or suggestion. So everything we speak, even when we think of a word or have a thought, they then are really just a suggestion to the mind.
“A Mantra is composed of psychically potent sound syllables that are capable of influencing the human system. They can excite the emotions and give suggestions to the mind. They affect both the one who chants them and the one who hears them.”

Mantra for health and happiness
Mantra is actually a scientifically combined set of sounds which give suggestions for healing, happiness and empowerment for our minds.
Mantra helps to free and protect the mind
Another interpretation of mantra is that it means to protect and free the mind. So ‘Man’ the first part of Mantra comes from the Sanskrit word ‘manas’ which means ‘mind’. The second syllable of the word ‘tra’ comes from ‘trana’ and means liberation from bondage.
Mantra as a tool for consciousness both protects your mind, and is the very path to freeing the mind from its patterns of suffering or unhappiness and mantra is the very means to suggest a solution or path to stability, and well-being for the mind.
We might ask: what are we protecting our mind from? I believe we are protecting our minds from our own scattered thoughts and freeing our minds from limiting interpretations of ourselves. We are so much more than the sum of our physical body – we are pure spirit.
Quantum physics now explains how all matter is made up of mostly space – how objects and our bodies are not even the solid matter we think it is, but instead that we are made of the space between molecules and this is vibration.
